Kerala Hair Dressers is a short documentary that traces the legacy of one of Tamil Nadu’s oldest barbershops, founded in 1939 by V Sankunni Nair and carried forward by his grandson Sandeep, who has run the shop since 1990, preserving its old-world charm. The film observes Sandeep’s daily ritual of prayer before opening the shop and follows the quiet rhythm of the barbershop as loyal local customers arrive for haircuts and traditional Indian head massages, capturing a living heritage of craft, discipline and community.
